My subwoofer went out few months ago and its driving me crazy. I got my previous subwoofer from my dad that was very old. So now i need to buy new one.

Problem is i know next to nothing about subwoofers, and not sure what a good subwoofer is. I saw this one on amazon i almost bought but need to know if this is right for my home system or what.

or if anyone knows of a better one for under 150 that would be good too.

It's probably as good as any, for that money.
To get a good one, you'll need to come off of more money.
The cheapest good one I know of, is just under $600.
    Good luck!

I live the complete contradiction in this

    "I know nothing about subwoofers"

"I NEED one for my home"

Nobody "needs" these things.. a good hi-fi stereo setup does not need them..and your neighbours don't need them either.

If you want a decent sound system, you do need one. When I first got my system (about 15-16 yrs. ago), I didn't have a sub for the first few months. Then my wife got me one for Christmas. The difference was night and day! So yes, you do need one in a decent system. The better it is, the more enjoyable it is.
