I recently got a Compaq Presario V2403NR notebook as a gift. It has a celeron m 1.4ghz cpu. I have tried on numerous occasions to ask HP technical support if it's possible to upgrade the processor each time recieving a totally different response. One person said i could actually switch to a Pentium M 1.8ghz. One lady said Celeron M 1.5ghz. One guy said it wasn't at all possible. (Although he didn't take any time to actually research anything so I don't really believe him.) Can someone please tell me the truth? I don't know what mobo it has it just refers to it as an HP oem board and that's all the tech support will tell me. I did notice that the pentium m 1.8ghz is actually an option when buying the system, however they have 2 graphics sets. One says it's optomized for celeron and one for pentium. Can anyone please help me out?

Yeah you can change the cpu buts its really hard and not recommended for novices because you really have to know what you're doing. Thats just the way laptops are made. You can google the topic for more info.

Ya i'm not good with laptops. I mean desktop cpu's i've done before and that's no big deal but I have little confidence with a notebook. Might try to find a place around here that'll do it for me.
