you should ask how pissed off the game companies are that you are getting their work for free

 

If you read the link you can see SR2 int360 had a fix, so you probubly have the fix version?

Probably. I downloaded the wrong one at first, and then redownloaded the fixed version, but I'm 99% I'm on the ban list, I just haven't had time to really play my 360 this week.

 

I figure if I'm going to be banned then I'm going to be banned. These past few days I've been playing my xbox online with my backups just like I usually do. Only time will tell if they get to me. I was wary at first, but now I can't be bothered.

 

I downloaded Gears of War early,downloaded seeds4 torrents and played them but not online.I have the xtreme firmware not the ixtreme and hacked my xbox with this firmware about 2 months ago.I have downloaded many games and played them all,But never played a game online.I have also downloaded 3 updates for 3 different games Im playing in the last two days.Still everything fine.I see a trend,the online play,maybe it doesnt matter if you downloaded anything early and played it as long as you dont go online and play.You may say what fun is that,but I can still go on xboxlive and download anything I want are do anything I want such as adding songs to my rock band 2 ,guitar hero world tour or rock revolution song library.Its all about the online play.

 

Yeah I haven't let this banning stuff change anything, still playing like usual.

Like someone said above, if I get banned I'm just buying a new box for the games that I want to play online and that's it, don't really play on live that often anyway.

 

Can anyone tell me if the gamertag is banned or the console, and if so how do you know?

Surely if its the console, they can detect firmware?

If its the gamertag its due to playing dodgy games...

Any1 shed any light?

 

So nobody can prove that a release that fails abgx360 test is sitting on abgx.net and NOT marked as nuked?

A few pages back some peeps were claiming that some bad releases are the cause, but I see no proof of that.

It would be interesting if we could find some releases that we can prove are the culprit of the new bans, and then see if the peeps banned used those releases.

The rest of the speculation here isn't getting us any closer to the cause, nor is just saying you are on the banwagon.

P.S. I don't see anyone who's been banned who HASN'T played one of the following:
GOW2
CODW@W
SR2

My take on the BAnnings, is playing it more then once, I dont think 1 time bans u, but flags you. The 2nd time pretty much bans u at a date/time by MS choosing. My buddy who does mod and downloads at teh first site plays with 1 360 always to test his games and 1 solely for offline play, heck hes got like 4 xbox's,
but what I prev said hes never EVER EVER been baned for playing a bad game once, he plays bad rips, bad ss, bad crc, but he only uses that 360 1 time for those games.

 

Yea, well having a modded system is a good thing even if you do get banned. Having an additional system to go legally online with and purchasing retail copies is the way to go. That way you can use your modded box to fish out the games you deem worthy to buy. I'm glad I modded my system regardless if I get banned or not. I've spent countless money buying games I thought I'd enjoy online in the past only to play them a week and collect dust.

 

the console

 

I just read something very odd in another forum... Some guy said he was banned a couple of days ago. He used his HDD on a non-modded 360, and the unmodded console now it's also banned. Hopefully this is not a trend.
I'm not sure if we are allowed to post links here, but if necessary I could edit this post with the link.
Oh, I'm not banned (yet) with Benq and latest firmware. I played COD5 all night last night.

 

I saw that thread on xs forums too, seems kind of fishy though. I just don't see MS banning people that way.

That seems accurate, but I think its more of a coincidence. I think the people that download games 9/10 will have downloaded 1 if not all of those games. But I do think downloading games as opposed to making your own rips has a large part to do with it.

Yup, I just got on live today, and I got the boot! Oh well... I knew the day was gonna come sooner or later!

 

I have never made my own rip and I do go online with some of the games I have, but I never downloaded any of those games above. As of now I'm still not banned. I do run everything through XDVDMulleter though.

Anyway, my point isn't that downloading is safe, only that my personal experience is evidence (not proof) that it was likely one or all of those particular games.

 

the only game i played early is SR2 and i just checked my box and i beleive i'm banned. oh well i knew it was eventually gonna happen.
