The last time I entered Xbox Live was at least 3 months ago. I don´t know if I´m banned. I was waiting for Left 4 Dead to go Live again, but now I´m waiting to the banwave to stop.

Anyway, I played the flagged version of Fable, the one listed above. I only played for 15 mins to test the copy, haven't connected to live neither while nor after playing this game.

What should I do now? Is there something I can do so the Fable info don´t get to M$ when I connect? I know no one has final answers, but suppositions are good.

And let´s say I don´t get banned. Should I get another version of fable and trash this one I have? Where does that list came from anyway?

    Thanks

Yeah me and my brother, and I believe all my friends did too (they weren't on when I signed back on)....when I came back to my xbox I was terrified. But I can't believe they are still doing the banning....on a Saturday. Way to ruin people's weekends M$.

Doesn't seem like this will ever end.

Yes, I too was booted from live last night. Thinking I was banned, I tried to log in expecting an error and logged in fine. Weird.

All but one of the games you listed are marked as nuked by abgx.net, all but the GOW2 release you mentioned.

I see the article says some games were stolen, so you could assume that this GOW2 release was the one released to the net. But even if it was, it was a legit retail copy (hence why it's not nuked), so you can only guess that playing it early is what got some banned...though it sounds reasonable. I would guess that if you had a save file or achievement on your box before the game even left the companies, they would know where you got it.

So to start to figure out this mystery, did anyone here get banned who DID NOT play a nuked game or who did not play GOW2 early?

I'm running a newly flashed 360 that's only been modded for a couple of days, but it's good on Live as of 1 minute ago. It's only played a burned copy of COD5 that checked out 100% in abgx360. I think if game doesn't check out 100% in abgx360 it may flag you. There are a bunch of them put there that do not.

The more I read the more I have to agree with posters who are saying that it's bad games and not firmware detection.
It makes absolutely no sense to me why M$ wouldn't ban every single 360 that was on Live IF they could detect firmware. If they wanted to prove they were serious about cracking down on piracy, at least when it comes to playing on Live, then why wouldn't they send a clear message that "We know who you are and we are clamping down on you." and ban everyone at the same time.
    Think about it.
We are all on here trying to figure out what games are bad and some of us are still on Live. So you may detour a few people from flashing their consoles but if they really wanted or could send out the message that if you mod you will be banned then wouldn't they do it already?
The only argument I can think of is that it's a "beta test" before they do heavy banning with NXE but I really don't think that's the case.
    What does everyone else think?

    Having Xbox LIVE Connection issues?
In the past few hours, the Xbox Operations Center noticed that large number of members were disconnected from Xbox LIVE, some more than once. Our Engineering teams are actively working to determine the root cause of this issue and to prevent it from happening again. If you are disconneced, you should be able to reconnect after a few minutes. Thanks for your patience as we work quickly to solve the issue.

The way i see it (don't shoot me btw as i'm new to all things xbox 360) is that it seems to me that MS are paving the way for the November 19th update. The only part i've read about for the update is the ability to install games to the hard drive so to me it seems they're unleashing the banhammer prior to the update ie so as to 'clean up' Live a bit before we all get to install games...

It happened exactly at midnight eastern standard time. I suspect this was microsoft updating the servers. This happened twice once at 12 midnight on the dot and once at 12:10am on the dot. The live service was still up but the MTU wasn't able to connect. After signing back in my 20 friends that were online were knocked down to 3.

It was odd because it froze my gta game in black screen, so i pressed the power off, the ring of light turned off but the console was still running. I pressed the eject button and it turned the console back on. I'm glad it wasn't trying to update, or it would have bricked.

I got banned after either playing Mirror's Edge on november the 13th or Fallout 3 on november the 14th. I think it was on the 14th since I 'm pretty sure I made sure that my 360 didn't go online on the 13th since Mirror's release date was the 14th. I was already playing Fallout 3 a few weeks though. And my 360 was still fine with GoW 2 and COD 5.

What I think is going on is Microsoft has been able to detect bad disks for quite some time. It's possible that MS has known which systems are modded for months now but only now have decided to act upon it, hence the reason some people that haven't even touched the "suspicious" list of games have still been banned.

Think about it, if you were a huge company headed into the holiday season, especially one where MS is practically trying to relaunch the system, wouldn't it make sense to launch a massive attack against modders during that period. Sony and Microsoft battle each year in the holiday, to be the company that sells the most systems during that time. Consumers later see that a particular system outsold another during the holiday and that creates a great start into the next year with sales as well. I believe Microsoft is using every bit of it's ability this holiday to drive sales more than the PS3 for that exact reason. I'm sure a large percentage of people who are recently banned will run out and purchase a system within the next month or so, or get a new one for Christmas. It's business tactics that I wouldn't put past a company like Microsoft for a second. I know if I was on the MS board I would do the same.

I had already been playing Fallout 3 a few weeks and it was going fine during thhat time. Also, I could go online with COD 5 and GoW 2.
