NOVEMBER 2008 BAN WAVE !!! - no posts of "Oh POOR ME I'M BANNED", Stop it already, just the facts

LIVE was having problems. Major Nelson posted about it.

 

I have played Gears of War 2 before it was released is there any copy of the pre-release on that is not getting people flagged. I also played the seed4me version of Fallout 3 should I wipe my hardrive to save myself. I haven't logged into live since playing those games. So Microsoft doesn't know I have played them. Also how do you check what release you have after you have burned the game. Is there a way to put it back in my dvd drive and find out? Probably not I am guessing because the games should look like retail games.

 

If you're banned, what does it say on the connection test? Mine can't connect to the network at all, so I think it's just a problem with the adapter or something.

 

when you test netork connetions, everything passes except for the XBoxlive test

 

I don't play on line. Never cared for it plus I have a PS3 and if I want to play on line I don't have to pay for it. But if you are banned do you still have access to things like Demos and Add Ons or are you completely cut off from everything?

I forgot to list i did get banned once everything worked except xbx live and then the next day my xbox worked so idk what happened. i do have a changing ip if that has nething to do with it

so i havent been baned yet... and almost all my games are backups
and i played gears (Offline) early

but as for right now im not going to connect to live till this ban wave is through.. or maybe ill wait for the 1.5 firmware and see if that helps, anyway what im really wondering is

how often do these banwaves happen? and do they usually die down after a while? because so far it seems like just about everyone is getting the banhammer

 

just got banned ive got gears and cod not played em online but got banned .my bro has a benq also banned he never played any backup games online.i dont know wats going on but its not good.o well it was a great 3 yrs. 4 of my buddies are online havnt been banned rite now wtf.M$ is doin sum funny stuff.

 

The thing I don't understand is why do/did so many people take the chance and play games early on Live to begin with? I know other people get banned also but so many people who have gotten banned play online before the game is released, that is so stupid. Also too, why don't more people just use a game rental service and make a backup of the original, instead of downloading some crap you have no idea if it is safe. Sure I wanted to play GOW2 and COD5 early, but I realized that's a stupid thing to do.

 

Long time reader: My account was banned this morning, yes it say my Account when i do the test. After callin MS, they said my console was banned, not the account. I tried to create a new profile, no avail, still cannot connect. MS also stated my HDD should work on another 360 and my live membership is fine. I have NME chip, for over a year, never play backups online, only originals. I have not even played COD5, GOW2, SR2, Farcry, etc. The newest games I have played is WWE 2009, 2 days after release. I never play a game more tha a day before a release.

 

Was wondering about a couple of messages that pop up when using dvd mulleter. When I do the CRC check-Auto Fix- After completing it initial tests it comes up with this message-"Could not get the ini file for the SS in this ISO. However, the game does appear to be in the data base, so I can check the data, and if it matchesour known CRC I can replace the SS safely and fix based on the,. Do it know?"
I then select YES. This then takes about an hr

After completing this next stage it shows this pop up "ISO CHECKSUMS match up with ini file, ISO is good. However, data partition was not checked"

I then check the SS with Kreon Checker and they come up with " good kreon rip" which is what I want.

Not exactley a computer wiz and was just wondering what these pop-ups in DVD Mulleter meant and whether it means that it would be far to bigger risk to play these games on-line. If I can't play these games on -line was it because of how they have been copied and can they be fixed?

 

has the ban hammer finished or is every one to scared to go on line...checked out a couple of mates who have the same games played list as me and they are still active.....gears 2 and cod 5

 

Thats what I'm wondering too, seems the ban posts are starting to dwindle down slowly.

 

Hey guys, Got banned the morning of the 15th and ive been playing GOW2 and COD5 like most. Something interesting though from seeing screens of peoples ban messages on their 360s it actually says "Your console has been banned" and on mine it says "Your account has been banned". I wonder if the console would still work if another account was used since it didnt specify a console ban?

 

well it the Ethernet still connected even if u are not sing in. and also my friend who did mine waren me that when u do reconnect the line you need to turn off the xbox bcuz it keeps some info they use against you its not stored in the hhd its in the 360 but when you cut power it goes a way then you cut it back on and plug it in.i know it seams like a lot but makes a point when you think about it

 

just been looking through various images over the past few months and the games that are getting everyone banned seem to have a common element of the update file bein different in size.

For instance fracture's update file is 7060kb while gow2 is 7092kb along with mirrors edge, cod 5, nfsuc, tomb raider underworld etc...

Wondering if someone with some knowledge could throw some light on this??
