NOVEMBER 2008 BAN WAVE !!! - no posts of "Oh POOR ME I'M BANNED", Stop it already, just the facts

Ol M$ has finally caught up with me. Tried to go on XBOXLIVE for the 1st time today since Wednesday only to find they have banned my console folks. I done allright out it I guess, have been playing copies online since day i got machine, about a 18months ago.
Uch well.., you live by the sword.. you die die by the sword.

games I had been been playing recently online were:
PGR4
FIFA09
PES09
VIRTUA TENNIS 3

WSUP people yh well so far im clean as a whistle i aint got bannd as ive always played with the ethernet wire out with my backups only time i attach the ether net is either when i play a legit game online or if i want to update a back up. One thing im concerned about is the NXE can any one confirm if the NXE is a garantee ban fot ixteme 1.4? and for every one out there id like 2 let you know out of 6 of my friends who all have modded firmwares 4 of them were banned and its obvious which gme caused it "call of duty 5 waw" but any way if any one knows aboyt tge nxe being a deffinate ban lemme no.

 

i have legit NXE and im not banned yet. BEnq with 1.41 norm play with ethernet in.

 

Anyone been banned, but not or never subscribed to Xbox Live?

 

The listed games, if you patch them with mulleter before playing, do they become ok, or theyre still flagged?

I played the listed Fable 2, but i first patched it with mulleter. Mulleter change the security sectors, so it should be ok, right? *wishfull thinking*

Got Hammed on thurs night. 11/13/08 just as a buddy of mine and his lil bro did, got banned. We all have the same drive Hitachi firm 1.4ix.I moded my drive someone else modded my buddies and his bros.There 360's have been modded six months ago, and for me just two.Nothing makes any sense after reading these threads because nothing is concrete.Just bad games, burns, this that the other.I think microsoft is just playing with us all just as others have posted to make end of year sells quarterly sales you name it.Wow!! how coincidently their console's arcade bundles are lower around 1 month ago prior to this ban.I don't believe in theories just facts.I do know this. I did mod another 360 hitachi 47 same as my console and one week after moding mine but the other console is in another state and has played saint's 2 but not online because the first copy just logged you out when you tried to connect..Then next copy came from my buddy who got banned three hours prior to me along with his lil bro in the next room to him..The next kicker is the guy who gave my buddy sain't 2 and whom i burnt my copy from is not banned and he is three towns away with the same firmware 1.4ix and same ISP same drive 47 Makes no sense!! The guy in the other state is fine also as of writing this thread...Ok check this out i'm on the phone 6 diff times with xbox live cust support.I Knew i was banned cause it said so in sytems network settings tab but i played dumb with them to see how far i could get or maybe get the console unbanned..NOT!! The last person i talked with was a supervisor and she told me that she does not know why i'm banned exactly just that its for some type of modification to the CONSOLE it's self..After acting upset and swearing afew times it still got me nowhere..She says there's nothing she could do because it's not her that banned the console it is the servers.So *bleep* Mr.Bill I Say we all chip in and start our own type of 360 free global community net like playstation has i'm not saying i have the know how but someone if not 1 by himself or 2,3,4 or 10 could, If we all chiped in spread the word to do it maybe it could be done. Besided who's not tired of paying $50 a year subscription when playstation 3 is free what gives??? To end this long thread..Everyone has posted things that microsoft can do to detect us on live with modded games..But remmeber they let us do it and this is their recourse..You wanna play live?? Hey don't forget the dvd drive reports home to dady everytime you put a disk in it and it spins up its doing a self diagnostic and the rest of the sytem for that matter and it reports home to microsft.How about a stuck open try?? Mode B?? The firmware mod??prob so?? Maybe not?? some are banned some not?? How about that laser reading errors, bad medium, junk disks??. How about when you had that drive out with the sata port on motherboard of 360 open when flashing?? Did you mod it before you ever connected to live or after?? Did you send it in to Mr. Bill for repairs then modded it after warranty ran out?? Did you erase all of your history on that storage library of congress opps i mean the HDD after Downloading burnnig then playing those Freebies off the net?? How about maybe microsofts discs have no manufacutring id info on them to say who made them or where they came from, but in "DVD INFO PRO" for some reason verbatims,tdk,sony,ridata and all others have manufacturing info on them??.Oh i wonder if the 360 has a modem inside of it?? If so that is what they shut down to deny access to live the mac id of that console?? Last Can Microsoft remotly use a DVD INFO PRO LIKE?? progam while where on live gamming then check maufacturing id info of the disk??

From reading all the replys here One thing that sticks out is the fact that just about everybody who's been banned has played one of 5 or 6 games early. If your boy billy could actually tell who has modded firmware we wouldn't even be on here and we'd be talking about a ps3. Let's try and quit the bitching you all new what was coming, the hammer always comes around the holidays as M$ wants everyone to go out and buy a new 360 so that they could ban it next november.

 

After reading the many pages would it be safe to assume that playing downloaded/torrent release games is the cause?

I only do backed-up copies of games I have the original disc for or have rented (WaW, Gears 2, Fallout 3). I have also played them online and my console is connected to Live all the time and havn't been banned since I modded it two years ago. Has anyone that uses plays only back-ups from the original physical disc been banned?

 

hey guys i got a hitachi fw 1.4 and i just been playing GOW2 co op mode with a friend...i think u guys should check yos backup b4 goin online...i use xdvd mulleter

 

Okay well let me add a little more to this. A few guys have said they have been banned and hadn't played any backup games online at all. The big thing that is seeming to stand out is that people who only rip their own games haven't been banned yet (using kreon firmware 1.0??). It would be interesting if someone lets us know if they have been banned and never played a downloaded backup.
Also as someone pointed out, what if microsoft have found a way of detecting the brand of media the game is on, because a dvd burner can do this.
Another theory I have thought is maybe the can detect firmware and the people that haven't been banned yet have a strict NAT. Maybe it is harder for microsoft or they cant check at all if you do have a strict Network Address Translation. I know I set my modem up correctly and I was one of the first to get banned.
Also why hasn't anyone mentioned splitvid?? Maybe that has something to do with it. I have always splitvided my backups. Maybe in doing so microsoft can detect it because doesnt ixtreme emulate the 2nd layer video anyway? Has anyone been banned that has never used splitvid?????

personally i have open nat, though i do connect through a router, and im not banned yet. Besides having closed nat would mean no voice.

 

I'm quite understanding the sentiments that most of you are trying to impress but ultimately what im having difficulty dealing with is that under my ban message I was told that my account was banned. So, To test it out I thought I could make another profile and try the silver live just to see if I could get it to connect and im still getting the connection failure with the same message on a different account which certainly pertains to a console ban.

I'm not the most well versed in this concept so if there is something different here that i'm missing please share but for my part it least it certainly seems like it is the same thing.

 

Erithial.....it is only your console that is banned recover your gamertag using your hard drive on another console ...and your ok ....console is banned everytime not your account this is fact im on another console now after being banned on friday...im thinking about having this one modded but im a little uneasy at the moment....

You still have voice with strict nat, it just makes it harder to find games, such as halo 3

 

The word got out and last known survivers are hibernating like me Can't wait till the NXE update to see if my benQ 1.41 gets banned<game over for all if banned>. Only one game has ever been played <COD 4 ORIGINAL> on it. My other <spoofed lite-on> I expect the worst since it's seen all the usual suspected games.
