I have recently downloaded both cd's for Now 58 but cannot seem to fit all 20 tracks (cd1) or 22 tracks (cd2) onto respective blank CDRs. Nero goes into the red and rejects the CDR for burning.

I don't understand this, cos no matter what bitrate each mp3 is at, it all still takes the same space on an AUDIO CD. So, if Nero won't let me fit all the tracks on, how come they all must've been on the original retail CD?

Have you got rid of the 2 sec gap between each song, if not, do that, and they should fit then

yeah I did try that but even then, each CD is still over the mark.

I cant understand this. CD1 has 20 correct mp3s (20 songs on the retail release) that play fine. But try to make a CDR with Nero and its sittin about 84 and in the red.

Tried to request an overburn, but my burner rejected it cos its too much to overburn.

    Any help is most welcome

I'VE BURNT THEM OFF NO BOTHER ON 80MIN DISCS, WHY NOT TRY DOWNLOAD SHORTER VERSIONS OF THE LONGER SONGS AND REPLACE EM OR YOU CAN D/L ALWP FILES FROM WINMX THAT FIT ON 80MIN DISCS NO SONGS MISSING

These ARE both ALBW files from WinMX.

Could look into the shorter version thing, but still cant understand why this number of songs cant fit on a CD if they fit on the Retail CD - unless retail CDs are enhanced?

It would seem to me you have an incorrect setting in Nero.
    Go to "File"....Preferences....General.
In "Status Bar" you should have the following.

    Yellow Marker.....74 0 0
    Red Marker 80 0 0
    Horizontal Scaling = Automatic.

This should cure your problem, if not come back with what is in there.

To the guys requesting the cover for Now 58, what part of PM don't you understand?

thargor, thanks for your help but I do have the yellow at 74 and the red at 80 with horizontal scaling automatic. It still sits in the red at 83 ish.

Some more particulars...the overall run time of the 20 tracks on CD1 is 82:37:47. If you search for Now 58 on www.amazon.com or any other site, you will see that all 20 track feature on CD1. How come I can't fit the same tracks onto 1 CDR???

    aha!

I figured out that CD1 had an ORIGINAL last track in this Albumwrap, and not the shortened radio edit that features on the CD. So I separatedly downloaded the shorter one and BINGO it fits...

Now all I need to do is work out which track(s) on CD2 are like this and maybe they'll fit.

    Fingerbob.

Glad you sorted it, I have not tried to write that one but would explain why it has happened before on other "Now" releases.
