My brother got me an acekard for my birthday but, my acekard doesn't work on his dsxl but his does any ideas? He is running firmware 1.4U. Both our acekards are running the AKAIO 1.6RC2 acekard firmware.
You dont say what type of acekard you have? Acekard2 wont work on a DSi, but an Acekard2i will work, after it has had the firmware update (sounds complicated but is quite a simple procedure really), some stores/websites do this before sending the acekard out, but some dont so you will have to perform this update yourself using an older DS or DSi on 1.3 firmware or below. okay my brother and I both have the 2i acekards. so my boyfriend gave me a DSi firmware 1.2 so when I tried running the firmware update it didn't show the update screen and I realized after paying attention to a youtube video that it needs official acekard firmware not AKAIO firmware. and I read the above link and now I am confused because it says, "To fix this you need to update the actual acekards firmware (different to Akaio RC2 software you copy to your SD card)so you must find someone with a DS/DSlite or DSi with firmware 1.3 to run the update file". and it another section it says, "Copy that file to the SD cards root directory (you should of alredy done the akaio bit" so now i am confused. first the official firmware then the 1.4 update then the AKAIO firmware then everything should be gravy right? because i did try to run the firmware update with the AKAIO first and it didn't work. On a side note anyone working on a downgrader for the DS? Is it even possible?
Its always worked for me on akaio, and ive updated loads of cards. are you sure you have run the dsi version of the two update files? (you havent said if your card is definately an acekard2 or acekard2i, as the update wont work on acekard2)
