hi guys, running a softmodded 4.0U Wii (no clue about cIOS but i previously used Larry's tutorial to get it to 4.0 a while ago). i want to get NSMBW running on my Wii, i downloaded the full ISO and the FIX version and got that ok... my problem is that when i load the disc it restarts my Wii...after reading some other posts i figured it must be because i need to upgrade to 4.1U? is this the real case? do i have to go through all of Larry's latest steps or can i just go ahead and use FIRMWARE UPDATE 4.1U... thanks for your patience! cheers!
Ok, first off, if you do a firmware update you will not end up on 4.1. You will get 4.2 and it will remove most of your homebrew, including the softmod. It can be reinstalled of course but no need to go through that if you don't need to. Secondly, AFAIK you cant play NSMB from the disk on a normal softmod anyway, even with the fix. You need to install a usb loader and play the game from your SD card or a usb drive.
does anyone know what the best USB Loader is? if i run NSMBW on the latest NeoGamma...will it work then... i geuss what im trying to ask is if i get a newer version of neogamma then it should work?? or would i have to still go through Larry's steps to bring it up to 4.1U and then have the new neogamma was installed... thanks again!
I would say follow larry's guide. I'm on 4.1U and followed it, downloaded the newsest version of the NSMB, and had no problems running it off of the disc. I beleive there is an option in the HB to update it to 4.1. I didnt have to do anything extra accept what it said in the guide, and get the newest cleaned version of the NSMB.

I have 4.0U and softmoded WII which runs NSMB backup by using either USB loader GX from WBFS or using Disc channel from DVD without problem. So you do not need to upgrade to 4.1U or up.
sorry santosc7 for jumping in on your thread. hi penguine98 you say we cant play nsmb from disk but lguorong saye he plays it on dvd no problem. can anyone tell me which one is true please as ive been having problems with this game. lguorong, can i ask which dvd channel you use please
There is one NSMB version flying round which will work on neogamma 7 and play of dvd,Not all version will work on dvd
