Hi, I own a Philips series 9000 tv (PAL) and, although it is supposed to play divx/xvid via USB, I soon realized that it doesn't play NTSC divx properly. Weirdly, a couple of my friends have earlier Philips PAL models which play both formats great. Anyway, I'm 99% certain that the problem is that the divxs I've tried are NTSC and not PAL, which, if I understood correctly, means that they are not 25fps but 23.976fps. Can you please explain a fairly easy way to convert a NTSC divx to PAL? Bonus points if it's a single-application conversion method, since I'm not very familiar with virtualdub etc.
If you want to try a simple frame rate adjustment to test it, then VirtualDub is pretty simple and fast. Load or drag the video into VirtualDub. Click 'Video' and click 'Direct stream copy' Click 'Video' and click 'Frame rate' Set the frame rate to 25. Click 'File' > 'Save as avi' and give it a new name. Note that you assume the frame rate is now 23.976 - you can verify that using MediaInfo or GSpot.
