Can PAL DVDs be properly played on PS2 after the PS2 is modded. I backed up a PAL version of Def Jam Fight for NY and when I attempt to play the game, the screen is full off lines and the image is jumping around. Is this a consequence of the PAL format or is this a problem with the burn/discs/iso rip? Any help would be appreciated, Mike
Yep its pal format, which usually rolls the screen or shows a black screen on NTSC systems/tv. You can convert the game from PAL to NTSC using some simple patch tools. These tools work really well! I use all three when patching a game. -ps2 pal2ntsc yfix v1.04b -ADRPatcher v05 -NTSCONV+FrontEnd
Thanks for the tip. I was under the impression that PAL could no be converted to NTSC. This is a big help. Mike
I made a guide if you're interested in patching the game to NTSC. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/121718
I've got a PAL TV, but I can play NTSC DVDs on it. Does anybody know if this means that NTSC game machines will automatically work with my television(PS2/Xbox/Gamecube)?
