hi ok heres my story. i Live in the UK and i bought a 15inch samsung tv. i bought it off an UK website. when it came it worked fine, i then hooked my playstation 2 up to it and put a region 2 dvd inside. the dvd film then played in black and white. it is not the playstation as i have used it as a dvd player before on many different tv's. so the fault is the tv the samsung. so i rang the shop where i bought it from and they said the tv may be a NTSC tv that has come from America that is why are tv's are so cheap. so i thought bloody hell couldnt you tell me that first! as you can imagine im well pissed of but i have seen a soloution but i need help of you guys. i have seen a NTSC to PAL converter but im wondering will it work and play my region 2 dvds in colour. here is the link for the converter. http://www.whitedog.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=124 please help me. thanks
I dont see why it wouldnt work, but the pixel aspect ratio is different on NTSC Televisions than that of a PAL Tv. So it might add black bars to the left and right sides, or squeeze the video (because PAL is taller 720 x 576 Pixels as opposed to Ntsc which uses a Pixel aspect ratio of 720 x 480 pixels) Picture of squashed video.
oh ok well is there anyway that i can change a NTSC game into PAL. my mate gave me a NTSC game can i not do something to it to turn it into PAL mode by putting it on my pc ? any help is great
