I'm trying to burn a couple of avi files onto DVD with NVE 3.1. This is what I'm using: DVD-RW - plextor px-708a, latest firmware. media - datawrite titanium (which I have no problems with when I use decrypter and shrink) software - nero vision express 3.1 I've used g-spot, which tells me that the correct codecs for my avi files are installed (xvid) Up until I tried g-spot and installed the xvid codecs, I was simply getting an audio sync error. I did an extensive search here (thanks to everyone!) and came up with g-spot, and then obviously the codecs I needed. Now, I'm getting an error with NVE which tells me that there was a problem with the burn. I know you all love log files, so here is mine. I'd be eternally grateful for any help you can give me. bumping Surely someone has some ideas? I know there are already threads on this issue, as I did a search before posting - but even though I'm following the advice given, I'm still getting problems.
dont know too much about these logs,to be honest but noticed a couple of things, are you sure the files are good? have you played them back?its pointing out some errors in sectors whilst burning "Failed to write 240 sectors at 361440 " you havent the latest version of NVE, the latest is 3.1.0.7 are you burning straight to disk?,try writing to a folder first,then bun the ts folder afterwards try using vso's dvixtodvd app',its much better than nero for avi's are the disk's empty!!! btw,remove the serial numbers from the logs
erk! thanks for the heads up - I've removed the serials. The files seem to be okay when I play them in winamp or something, it's just after the burn that they start to go out of sync. Right now, though, they're not even burning (this since I installed gspot and the xvid codec). I noticed after I posted that there's an updated version of NVE, I'll install that and see what happens. It sounds crazy, but I wondered if it has anything to do with *how* I install - should I install the codecs first then Nero? Does it even make a difference? At this stage, I'll try anything! hi not to sure here, but i would uninstall the nero app and reinstall get neros removal tols from there website! also it could be codecs either a conflict of too many or the ones used are currupt no good? as it seems to run then stop? also run the avi's through divFIX on strip and rebuild to correct any errors first before endode... but as hursty say use divxtodvd first and see if it works!!!
dont think it makes much difference,but having too many codecs can screw things up,as i have experienced first hand the only codec pack i have is k-lite codec pack (full) from here http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm what exactly are you trying to do?? convert and burn a set of avi files?? if so,jack in nero for now, and try the vso's dvixtodvd converter,and burn the ts folder with clonedvd2
hi also didnt spot what discs you are useing but if cheapo they have the same symtoms of running then bombing out on you...
Guys, I think we have found a solution! I took Hursty's advice, and burned the Nero project to the hard drive. I then used DVD Shrink to burn those files to dvd. It worked! I don't understand it, but at the end of the day, I have a workable solution to my problem. Thanks to everyone who helped
cool,good to see you got it working, even though you have used nero to burn the files!!! dvd shrink has no burn engine,it uses nero's!!!,or dvd decrypter i use clonedvd2 to burn my ts folders best of luck........)
