NVIDIA driver problems. need urgent help plz

i have an nvidia xfx 6600gt. but when ever i install the new drivers, the computer will no longer playback video files, on any media player. im at my wits end trying to sort this out. please help

 

thanks for your reply. i have resolved the issue. turns out nvidia realeased drivers they knew may create this problem. isnt that smart.

 

i have the 6800gt and I have the same problem except it will play movies but it looks all distorted.

Post a link with the update if possible or how you resolved this issue.

 

geestar, what current forceware drivers are ya using? i have a 6800 ultra and im currently using 77.76 beta official release with NO problems~

this is the version I got from nvidias web site "Version: 77.72" last week. but I see this is a newer version so I will give it a go.

The only probs i have with the new Nvidia driver is the picture when watching videos goes all bright but turning down the gamma helps, and it wont play HL2, i have a different card so it maybe a whole different problem you experience.

the new driver i installed from -kivory666- works BEAUTIFULY!

Movies come out looking great.
