Okay got a weird one. I cant figure this out. Its probally a buggy bios. Its a msi kn8 neo platinum socket 939 board. I recently got this used off of ebay and flashed the bios to the latest on msi site. The reason for the flash was hoping it would fix the nvidia lan not working, but that problem was the factory never inputed the mac addy into the bios for the lan and I had to manually input it.

Now heres the weird thing. I dont recall this doing it before the flash, but the ide rom is always looking for a raid array upon boot up even know the raid is disabled in the bios. I have tried clearing cmos and resetting everything. But it still looks for every time.

Now the other 2 nforce boards I have dont do this. They only look when raid is enabled. Any ideas? :>

There may be a separate check for raid array item in the BIOS< check through every options list and see if there's an option for it. Some motherboard use different ways of checking for RAID, so maybe it's just that that board does it a different way.
