has anyone here heard of this copy of vista? i got it installed on my pc and it seems to be a tweaked copy of vista, runs way faster then normal vista does. has anyone else used this vista?
No i haven't i think it would be very difficult to tweak an copy of vista and compile it to an install cd are you sure that the person who installed your computer didn't tweak it a bit after the installation.
Yeah i had a look and there are downloads claiming to do this but i havent tried them, and wont be trying them either.
Actually, vLite will make you a new Vista install disc from the original disc while removing component's, same as nLite for XP. Now Vista run's faster than XP and is smaller than Window's 7 and the only after install tweak I did was to shut down UAC, should have removed it before. Without removing much, install DVD went from about 2.3 G to under 1 G.
i love using tweaked versions of windows there much much faster, although the only hiccup i've had is with windows xp black edition (version 7.x.x i think) the problem was with the network, i was trying to host a private server for a game and i wasnt able to, i had to switch to home edition Xd other thoughts: i thought the make a slipstream version of vista you could use nlite also, now i know its called vlite
I've since found that SP2 won't install if vLite was used, I wanted to see how accurate this was for me: http://www.pcworld.com/article/1657..._report_big_increases_in_free_disk_space.html sound's interesting.
