Oblivion has always worked fine for me. I have the newest patch and a lot of various graphics mods as well as a no-DVD patch. I just recently installed BioShock and it worked fine after it was installed the first time. But the second time I tried to play Oblivion, the launcher opened and I clicked "play". The game went fullscreen and when it got to the menu, I clicked "Continue" and "yes" to the prompt asking me if I want to load my last savegame or not. It went to the loading screen and made some progress but then the game closed and I saw my desktop.

The same thing happens every time I try to play. Any suggestions?

the same thing happened to me and i realized it was because of some mods that i have so my suggestion is to remove all of the ones that you have recently installed

p.s. this is probably some problem with conflicting problems so check the compatibility

Hmm ya I have a lot of mods but I've not installed any recently. :s Do you mean compatibility with the other mods I have or with Bioshock somehow? Because I installed all my mods a while ago and none of them conflicted then.

perhaps that gamesave is corrupted cuz those syndromes might point to that and although bioshock and TES are made by the same company i doubt that they are related.

ps i mean compatibility with other mods

pss it's possible that the bioshock installation/running of the game might have tampered with some file settings or something (i pulling this out of my arse) which could be the cause of the problem...just throwing it out there

YAY! All it was was a corrupted savegame I guess because I just tried loading my second-newest savegame and it worked! :D Thanks man! I can't believe I didn't think to try that. :p
