I used to intstall all my games to my 120GB HD but since the ban I can't really do that anymore. Now while playing games the system makes a "wheezing" noise that goes up and down constantly. It sounds like the disc is spinning then stopping and then starts all over again. I'm not having any problems with my system, but this noise is distracting when playing games. Anybody else have this problem? I was thinking of standing up my 360 to see if that stops it, but I don't want to cover up the vent on the side of the system. I just swapped out the disc drive because I thought it was a problem with the other drive, but the new one does it as well. I have a Lite-on disc drive. Has anyone found a fix and have been able to install to a HD on a banned system?
i cannot answer your noise problem but i can tell you that you can only prevent losing the ability to install your games to the hd and can not get it back as of now. The way around this is installing the game on your hd while its connected to a seperate unbanned xbox
That would be pointless as; as soon as you put the hard drive back in to the banned console it doesnt read the game data from the hard drive anymore. So you've got a game on a hard drive thats not playing from the hard drive.
I second u on that, I got banned and now when on a vertical stand it makes an odd noice (not that of the microwave it always does). Putting it on horizontal position considerably lowers the sound. I also put it directly on the ground when playing
Sounds to me that you're hearing the game loading. As you can no lon ger install to the harddrive it has to spin up the DVD to read the data. You'll need to get used to it.
