OEM Nero Suite Gaps between imported segments

I'm importing the VOM files from a DVD-R that I burned on my home recorder. I wanted to edit out some commercials, using Nero OEM suite, version 6.3. Nero rips the files from the disc ok and they appear on my timeline in about 50 editing segments. In the final video, I notice missing gaps in the playback, like a flash of black and missing sound between each of those segments. Is there any way I can butt all the segments together without having to join them manually? I know about the random transition default, but I'd rather just have all the pieces play smoothly without them. Hope you understand all this. Thanks in advance!

I haven't come across .vom files, but I had a similar problem with .vro (dvd-ram) files. Nero tech support suggested the following:

"The best workaround should be to save the *.vro to your hardisk and just rename the *.vro extension to *.vob to import it to NVE."

This worked for me, although I'm using Nero 7 not 6.Try renaming your .vom to .vob, and then importing to NeroVision, it may work!
    Good luck!

Thanks for the helpful reply. By the way, the VOM was a misspelling;I meant VOB. By your method, I can import this as a big unsegmented file, but then I don't have any picture cues in my timeline to find the commercials. Since my file is an hour long, one large segment will stretch the line out too long on the edit window. It makes clipping commercials very difficult, like removing a splinter from your finger with a pair of tongs. It's probably time to upgrade my media software anyhow.
