i know the local CBS station broadcasts in HD. i also know my new plasma has a built in HD tuner. yet I cannot get any signal on the tv.

this may be a probelm of signal strength of the broadcast. or weakness of the built in tuner. etc.
    any suggestion on HD antennas?>

also i have the direct TV hd reciever which was it's own off air antenna but I did not purchase it when I had direct tv installed.

I think you still need the HD antenna to receive OTA HD.

    A couple of things...

Any antenna is capable of picking up HDTV/DTV over the air (as long as it will except VHF and UHF frequencies).

TitanTV.com will help you find HD content (for free and pay) in your area. All you need is a zipcode...

    Titan TV:

AntennaWeb.org will help you select the right out-door antenna and then align that out-door antenna so that you can recieve desired channels. Again all you need is a zipcode but if you also give your street address the info will be tailored to your house's geography. Meaning the results will be for you not your city.

    Antenna Web:

[bold]All the above services are free of charge![/bold]

    Good luck,
    Ced
