For DL Verbatims are sure things..
But I just had to try Office Depot brand DVD+R DL for $1 a piece.
Supporting speed is limited to 2.4X and media code reads as Ritek.

I guess this would be the cheapest DL in the market now and that is without any discount!

Anyone else have used it yet?

used quite a few of the Ridata Ritek dvd+R DLs...i'm assuming your office depot DLs have the same RitekD01 MID coding based on your post???

also, your success with these RitekD01s will vary greatly depending on which drive you use and the associate firmware with your drive...
i've had NO issues using Liteon, Pioneer, and NEC drives burning Ritek DLs (150+ used already), my problems began when using my Benqs...

i do not own a Samsung, LG, or Plextor drive, so i don't know firsthand how those drives burn onto Ritek DL media...also, your success will also depend on the burning program used; nero has some problems they still need to address with the layer break, dvd decrypter/imgburn is MORE RELIABLE for ME on my setup...clonedvd2 by slysoft has also worked pretty well for me too~ :)

firmware is important to your drive and it's always a good idea to be "up to date"...especially when dealing with these expensive DLs...

I grabbed some this week myself. I'm going to try to use them for 360 games. I'm just waiting on my PCI SATA card to arrive in the mail so I can hack my 360's DVD drive's firmware 1st. I'll let you know how they do when I'm done.

Yup, They pick up as RITEK D01. Just picked up a pack myself and will be giving them a try here this weekend.... (had to reformat the whole machine so that ate up tonight).

Well I've burned 3 of these disks now and every one has paused for the switch to the 2nd layer. Not the end of the world at the price they were but still annoying.

These worked very well for me for Xbox 360 games, possible even better than the Vertbatims I tried. That's the only thing I used them for though. I wish I bought more now. At least I grabbed 2 packs of them. $1 for a quality DL disc is a steal.
