so do we assume the ty are the fake too??
i was just about to go get some windatas man
but having some 2nd thoughts now.

 

Regarding those Windatas, the way I see it, if at this point some obscure brand starts coding out with a top end name, I'm going to just assume it's a fake, since there are so many consistent brands out there (I've had excellent results with TY, Verbs, and Sonys, with the same order of quality in terms of scans and reliability on playback). It's just too frustrating to save a buck or two on a stack of discs, only to have to return them or throw the whole stack away when they turn out to be junk. I just tried my first Verbatim 16x DVD+R a few weeks back and it produced great results, so it looks like Verbatim is right on track for the next generation of DVD+Rs.

 

guys just get them from supermediastore.com or meritline.com then you never have to worry about fakes. and they are the same price

 

Or if you're a verbatim user like myself, check neweeg from time to time. They have some really good deals on verbatim dvd+r's once in a while. Free shipping and mail in rebate but I've never been stung by a verbatim MIR.

Fredburn To be fair I think the ban was for a slight over size sig and not the content. aabbccdd correct me if I'm wrong. But they have ask him to take down his Victoria Secrets sig which was ok size wise. There were complaints from some of the more pious conservative thinkers. Rubbish. If they can use that in magazines (public) it should be ok here. I've seen lots worse.

thats correct garmoon. i think it was like 2kb to big lol and the warning was posted in some ramdom thread i didn't see. i should of been PMed about it and wasn't in which case i would of fixed the sig as i alway do if asked. and yes the size of the other sig was fine it was just the sig they didn't like even though it followed all the sigs rules size etc. but remember the Pot Plants as sigs are ok lol.

and on the TYs i been using/getting the TYG03s as of late and they have been burning great no coasters in like 400 plus burns using the valueline

This slightly off topic re: Lite-On. There was some bad reviews
at Newegg on the Lite-on 18x supplied with Nero 7. Is Nero 7
really included with the Litey's? I haven't seen anything higher than
Nero6 Express.


Anyway the review said that supplied software didn't work with Vista
which I could care less about. I haven't upgraded OS past Windows 2000.

There were some other beefs about the LiteOns as well: firmware
problems or something.


I ask this in here because I've followed the thread for along time.

 

I just had a terrible experience with a new Litey. I ordered a new SHW-160P6S from PCMicro.com. They shipped me a Litey LH-18A1P which is a new 18x burner. It came with a Nero 7 Essentials dvd. I must have installed and uninstalled the thing 6 times. It was always recognised by the computer, but would never read or burn. I finally sent it back and hope for a refund. Before I put the Nero 7 it came with, I had a version 6 of Nero but the burner would not work with that either. Either I am doing something wrong installing the silly thing or it was defective. The Nero 7 essentials seems to be just a basic thing. I burn alot of DVDs on another computer using Nero 7 Ultra and am much impressed with Nero Recode. fast and excellent burns using Taiyo Yuden.
