    @greensman....in the 112 is the buffalo f/w which now shows as a 112l, and the 111 has the standard pioneer f/w.All my scans using nero are at about 95%, the errors peaking at about 8-10.Its a similar story on the lg4167a, the benq 1650 and the samsung sh-w163...not one drive really shines but i think ive got a dodgy supply of ty's.Theyre genuine allright, but knowing my luck a bad batch.Ive got some new stock on the way from two diff suppliers so hopefully ill get better results.However, only one of these drives is able to error scan in nero....and thats the benq.My old pioneer 107/8/9 s would all work, but not the 111/112.Strange.And by the way. if you have anydvd installed and you use the nero clean tool registery checker...you have to reinstall anydvd.Just thought id throw that in.Just makes me hate nero even more!!

    We are talking about burning TY's just in case you ask. hehehe.

    @pieman,
    Yeh I have the Buffalo 8.06 f/w for the DVR-112L as well. I like the f/w as it seems to create good burns and then the disc scans well with Nero scan. Of course playback is perfect as expected. :)

    Link to possible firmware just in case you need it again for a fresh install. ;-)

    Again glad that you figured out your problems and now have 2 good drives, sorry that you had to chunk the mobo but at least you have all things in good working order. :):)

    When you get those TY's in give us a shot and maybe a little scan to see the results. ;-)

    @greensman/cinyrob

    Oops! My bad. I knew cincy was considering the 112 at one time. I love mine!!! Not a single problem! I only burn TY's, though (and the occasional Verb). I have my 112 crossflashed to the 112L with the Buffalo 8.06 as well. I also burn extensively with LiteOn 160P6S, LG 4163, BenQ 1640, and a Plextor 760... The Plextor is my ripping King!!! It also burns extremely well except for MCC004. I get OPC spikes on those when scanned, but no playback issues... I've retired a LiteOn 1693S and a Pioneer 109.

    You guys are right. The only thing gained with 12X on TY +R is speed. I'm actually being "old school" and sticking with 8X myself. These days, as long as you are using the good stuff, in which, IMO, YUDENT-002 is the best, almost any burner will do!

    EDIT: wanted to throw in this little tidbit... LOL

    Pioneer DVR 112 Review

    This is one of the few review sources that I actually rely on...

    Hello Guys,
    Since you guys are on the topic with the printables. I would like to know if the T02 is worth that $.10 over the tygo2?? my main concern is for the flawless playback. I am not big on the booktype.
    My burners are px-716 and benq dw1640.

    well...... my BenQ 1655 has better scans with the YUDEN000TO2s than the TYG02s! Sooooo for my burners it's the +Rs rather than the -Rs! Oh, and another plus for the +Rs.... I can booktype them to DVD-ROM!~

    @Yujenh,
    IHoe has it here. The YUDEN T02's should give you a better scan and therefore a better product. NO guarantees but that is the general consensus I get from the people that burn both discs. Don't think the TYG02's or TYG03's are bad media just that the YUDEN T02 is that GOOD. :)

    IHoe mentioned the DVD+R book-type to DVD-ROM, I think it's a great idea and isn't that difficult. I think that BENQ has the Q-suite for the DW-1640 (I know it does for the DW-1650 and DW-1655) and Plextor should have Plex-tools for the PX-716.

    aabbccdd should know about the TOOLS for the Plextor, hopefully he will respond. :)

    If you use IMGBURN to burn your iso's it will book-type as well. EASY stuff to do. I recommend it most definitely!!

    Good luck with that. :)

    Yujenh, yes you can set it a forget it(DVD+R to DVD-ROM) with the Plextor tools(LE verison) software. under "Drive Setting" make sure BOTH boxes are checked

    Change Booktype for DVD+R

    Change Booktype for DVD+DL

    I don't know why Taiyo Yuden was not available in the +R,16x format for awhile. but I never tried these YUDEN000TO3s out..... so I bought just 50 for my stock pile! that makes over 450 in reserve! LOL do you think I should buy more?

    I have a question about some TY media I just received from Shop4Tech for $30.50/100 shipped. Briefly, the results from DVDIdentifier returned the following: Unique Disc Identifier: DVD+R:YUDEN000-T02-000. Manufacturer ID: YUDEN000. Media Type ID: T02. Also the furthest ring on the inner hub has a holographic number of TG001162.

    Is it safe to say I got the good stuff? I've bought from them before and have always been very pleased.
