Very true, but I bought these verbs when they were on sale awhile back..50 pack for 14.99, which is a good deal. I have tested burning at 4x and also 8x. I get about the the same scores when burning 4x and 8x, but a little better with 4x. This was the first 98 score. I do buy from supermediastore, and must say thats a heck of a deal. Although, i still have some verbs and sony MIJ left. After those are burned..Then i want to try out DVD-R TY, cuz alot of people, including Doc say that lieton's burn better DVD-R, so I want to test them out.

Well he would be better off with 8x Discs rather then 4x.
    AFAIK burn at 2x on 4x discs & 4x on 8x discs.

I don't know exactly how to get SolidBurn to "learn" your disc strategies. I simply enable it and forget it about it. Like Doc said before, as far as WPOC and SolidBurn actually improving burn quality, I assume it does, but it's hard to quantify. I know it's on, short of that, I have no idea how to tell if it's actually doing anything. I don't get all 99's, I get 95's and 97's quite frequently to. I don't think anyone, including the Doc, get's 99's all the time. Hang one someone's at the door. "Oh hey Doc. Oh I was just saying noone gets 99's all the... what's that no I don't need a free labodomy, Doc... no stop...."

As I was saying. DocTY good.. all scans 99.... brains.....

That's a pretty good deal. I've seen them cheaper at Supermediastore.com with free shipping once for $34.99. They change sales so often, you pretty much just need to check daily for bargains. Here's 200 TYG02's for $68 and free shipping. http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-r-media-200.html

    Here's the Yuden000T02: http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-plus-r-media-2001.html

$20 more. I dunno. I've got a birthday in a month or so, mom and dad I got straight A's... buy me the 200 TY DVD+R's. I pretty much have switched to DVD+R's, at least for PS2 backups. I've noticed that my burner seems to get better results when burning to the edge. I seem more apt to get 95's when burning to the middle of the disc. Not always. Here's MGS3:Subsistence Disk One:

Actually darthnip - those prices are pretty much in line with both supermediastore and meritline's sale prices. I've seen slightly higher and slightly lower. The slightly lower ones didn't include the paper sleeves. For example last week Meritline had the same special with the cd holders (same as the site you suggested) for $41.99. But I've seen the same discs on sale for $37.99 shipped on occasion. All in all they seem to have good prices and thankyou for another avenue to go down when looking for media.

@Tokijin - Keep in mind the one's darthnip suggested were inkjet printable and not thermal and included the paper sleeves ;) These are the ones he showed:

    http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-white-inkjet-printable-8x-dvd-r-media-100.html

They're $42.99 without the sleeves at supermediastore.

Does anyone buy those thermals? Two years ago those things were more than the inkjet printables, but now they're cheaper. Everyone has been dropping the prices on those lately. Personally I have no need for them since I don't have a thermal printer, but I even notcied they have a low end thermal printer now that's around $130.

Looks like they are. The same paper slip on top that comes w/ the Taiyo's in a cakebox and code for the 8x. Can't read most the language (german?) but looks like the real deal. Reputable online store?

Anyone ever try Panasonic DVD-RAM? I would assume that they are decent (being made in USA).

Yeah Qsuite is pretty neat. Mainly I enjoy the auto booktyping, it's wonderful for those of use who detest Nero, or are too lazy to flip through DVD Decrypter/ImgBurn and set it. I was always paranoid with those two that I had to set it everytime, though I don't think you have to. Oh well Qsuite auto sets it and forgets it. I agree with Binkie, those look like legit TY's. The label on the time is the exact same as the ones I get from sms.com and TYG02 is definitely the right Media ID. Darth you may want to watch out for your crops, you never know who may be lurking... could be... this guy....

For people showing off their disc quality scores:
What speeds are you writing at? Do you have success writing at Max on TYD?

I burn at 4x on an 8x TY discs. I don't plan on changing that for PS2 games. For movies, I don't care as much. I always scan at the speed I burn at. If you scan at 8x or 16x, you'll get a lot of errors, which probably are false positives anyway.
