56min?? damn you, i still have to work a full day and wait till midnight, thats like 13hours away!

 

I pre-ordered it so hopefully fingers crossed (if royal mail doesnt screw me) il get my hands on it tommorow.

Holy $h1t!! Just went to get the game from Asda and the Queue is about 500 strong!! Drove into town and there queueing all round the streets!! Git i stayed up for nothing i gotta go to bed. Im so p1$$ed LOL. o well ill try again tomorrow.

Ive also got a special edition being delivered in 8hrs!

Got mine 1hr ago and have to say, DAMN THIS IS A BIG GAME!

its gonna take a little getting used to, but everything is better than i expected, the targeting is awesome, and the graphics jaw dropping!

All i'll say is that is was worth waiting for.

The initial start up takes around 10 mins to install info to the hard drive but apart from that there's no stoppages.

AWESOME!

Rock on GTA fans, see you in multiplayer. (ive played that too and its awesome!)

Damn, I wonder how much of a mess it's gonna be tomorrow for me. If it's not raining cats and dogs, I'm gonna take a picture of the chaos tomorrow. Like I said, I'm off of work tomorrow and I plan on being at Circuit City when they open (even though I have it pre-ordered). It should be fun! lol

 

Well i dont know how i missed it but the midnight launch was last night! here i was going to stand outside the store tonight looking like a idiot! got the game now, this has to be the longest working day ever!

 

I picked mine up tonight.... but I cant play it cause I'm stuck at work for another 7.5 hours..... But the game looks awesome sitting on my desk!!!!

 

well there is about a half dozen things i would change:

The driving is horrific
The fighting is is awful (hand to hand)
There are like 500,000 cops
No cross hair on the helicopter.
You cant access the cell phone in the pause menu either, so if you are trying to use the cheats for wanted level you get the crap shot out of you while finding the number.

I give this game like an 8.0

It's just no fun trying to drive the cars. you hit the E brake doing 10 and you do a 360 and slam into a wall. Unfortunately i would rather play saints row. the driving is more fun and the hand to hand is much better. what do you guys think? What kind of rating would you give this game?

i think the game is very dark i cant see anything at night or the cutscenes is that just my tv
ya the driving could be better half the time i find myself obeying the law!!

 

Hey i didnt get the hand to hand fighting whats it about or how is it?

 

I have a really bright DLP TV and still couldn't see very well. All they need to do is release a patch and fix the darkness issue. But the driving is terrible, the cars are cool, but I can't ever drive fast because of the viewing angle. The cars wreck and flip just a little bit too easily, but I guess if I could see where I was going it wouldn't be as big of a problem. Everything else is cool though, and all of the other aspects I like better than the other GTAs. Also, what did you all think of the installation? I kind of thought this might be something only the 360 would have to do, especially since PS3 has Blu Ray.

 

I will be picking my copy up today. GOt it reserved. But when you think about the installation, it may help out a lot when it comes to loading. Im pretty sure there is some load times in the game. THink about how wide open the game is....
But i hope the issues with the game are just because we all jsut start playing the game and you have to build your skill to drive better and fight better and etc like in San Andreas. Im still picking it up. simply cuz its endless things you can do in this game and the mulitplayer just makes it even better if there isnt any bad network glitches and bugs to take away the fun of the game.

 

I think the driving is perfectly ok. I understand that they wallow and drift a little too easy. but so would a real car! I also suffer the darkness problem, but at the moment that is the only problem ive found, and i love it!

 

fair enough about the "so would a real car" statement but would it really? i watch those police chase videos on court TV all the time and Joe Schmo runs from the cops for hours. And besides if i wanted to drive a "real car" from the cops i would do i for real. also... does it seem like there is a gravity problem to anyone else? i mean i'll hit a curb or small hill and just flip out of control. I dunno i just think its a little much. i want to handle corners like the other GTA's so i can outrun the cops... instead i tap the e-brake and do a complete 180 and get hit head on by the pursuing cops. The multiplayer online is really fun though.

 

Driving is more realistic in my opinion. And I think its a good thing.

Also had the darkness problem. But just hit start, went to display options and turned up the brightness and contrast. I can actually see now!

Havent made it to far into the storyline, but loving every minute of it. Got my copy at 1am and played til like 4 in the morn.
