i might have my share of complaints but i got mine at 12:30 and played it until 8 am ha ha

 

You all killed me on play time, I only played until 3 AM. I wasn't smart enough to turn up the brightness so I could see though.

 

Glad you sed that cos i thought my telly was crap!! Any way press start and go into the display options. Put brightness nearly all the way up and contrast nearly all the way up then tinker with your tv settings.

I have the same prablem like wen its morning it all looks too bright

 

I have no issue with the driving its just make the game real & not all the Cars drive the same who could have a issue with that?

 

lol, i just got done playing to spend time with the g/f and decided to check the boards. i ditched out of work early, picked up the game and started playing at 230, it just turned 1030. i havent played a game this long straight in a while if ever. regardless i love everything about the game. im 15% done and can tell ill enjoy the rest of the game. im taking my time taking michelle out on dates and banging her later screaming "TELL ME MORE!!!" which is hilarious. anyways the only thing would be the lighting I guess but on my tv its not even that bad, maybe a little. I have a 50" plasma so maybe someone else with a plasma can speak on this. anyways, thats my two cents.

 

I think once people with plasmas, DLPs, LCDs, and new display types mess with some of the settings, it won't be that bad for us. Although annoying, still playable. I really feel sorry for people who own CRT rear projection tvs. I can just picture myself sitting there with the brightness on everything turned all the way up, and having that white tint over everything and still straining to see the screen. I sat and waited for it to become daylight before I did the mission where you follow the drug dealer into the apartment and kill a few people at the top, just because I couldn't see where he was going at the beginning of the mission, and would fail it every time because he would get away. It also annoyed me that ever time I did fail the mission I had to drive all the way back across the city, accept the mission, and drive back.

I finally improved my driving, I had to learn to direct it like a fps and move the viewing angle along with the car so I could see where I was going. But another complaint I have is how weird he walks when your not pressing X/A.

By the way, is my vision just bad or do other people have just a little bit of trouble reading the text on the cell phone?

My other thoughts on the game were that it seemed shorter than the others, but maybe thats just because I've never done the missions before on other GTAs. I also wondered if you would eventually be able to buy houses, and if there were other side missions like the old taxi cab runs.

It might have been my connection but I couldn't ever get the multiplayer to work. Has anyone played it yet? What is it like?

I know I made it sound like I don't like the game. But I really do, I just wish it didn't have some of the issues I listed. However, something good that I didn't expect was the graphics. I knew they would be alot better but I didn't know how much considering the size of the game and all of the detail. But the graphics definitely didn't disappoint me.

 

i tried going to multiplayer once during the game and it wouldnt let me.

 

i played multiplayer for about an hour the night/morning the game came out but since then it hasn't let me get back on.

 

I was able to get in this morning around 5am before I headed to work. I just played the free mode. forgot the actual name of it. I think I was the only one in there considering the timeI havent really tried tohe multi player yet

Anyway i started playing it today personaly dont think the drivings too bad butt theres 2 things that are annoying me:

1/ Cars flip wayy to easyily
2/ When you auto aim you can easily move the crosshair up (for ahead shot)

But i guess wel get used to that.

Things i do like:

1/Cops dont shoot unless youve done something bad
2/ Mobile phones rules

Soo far theres the only things il try and update you with things i like and dont for thoose that havent got it yet..

 

I love this F*ckn game!! I didnt care for the last one.. I picked it up here at Gamestop at around 11pm and surprisingly I was the only one that had been in to get it so far... The guy behind the counter was like, didnt I tell you to reserve a copy.. Why would I do that? I live in a small crappy town, where I think I am about the only one with a PS3....according to the dot on @ Home..... Oh Here is a list of Cheats.. How to enter the cheats

I cant play this game it just doeant look correct on my sharp aquios. Its way too dark at night and in the day the sky is white its so bright. If i turn up the saturation it blooms and looks sh1t. Im p1$$ed off.

 

Man that sucks, try brightness mixed with contrast. Play with the settings. Good luck man!

 

damn.. I eat my words... It has froze 3 times in the last 10 min... I hate to delete my data..Im at 10%..

 

I'm at 14%, I would say first one hear to beat it wins, but some idiot would get one here and lie. But seriously, if someone beats it they should post just to see how long it takes.

I thought the dialog was pretty funny though. His cousin is crazy.

What I really want to know is, what affect do the cheats have on the game for the PS3 version? "It is recommended that you do not save your game after using these cheats. Please use them at your own risk."

 

Yeah its said that with all the GTA games regarding cheats. And from what i know it means you won't be able to get a 100% completion save, with cheats it can go up to 99.9%

 

is it possible to change the settings to get gta to upscale to 1080i? my tv supports it but its only showing at 720p

 

Thanks for the info, if I get to a hard part I think I will use cheats, I could care less if my game save says 100% or not.

I really don't know if it supports 1080i or not. But is the 1080p real 1080p or is it just compatible like COD4?

 

yeah it supports 720p,1080i and 1080p.. but i would use a progressive setting.. Theres alot of action, you want a smooth picture instead of choppy... if you want to force it into a paticular format, deselect any format you are NOT wanting to play in the PS3 Display Settings..
