yea u should prolly start from the first game bc it makes the plot so much better and easier to understand. but honestly u dont have to but i would.

i dont think bungie will do a prequel. it seems a lil far fetched for me to understand. sure it could be fun but it wouldnt have the same flare as halo.

i do think however they will make another halo game but will not be titled halo. as in bungie will take our legendary spartan 117 to a different enemy and no longer use the halo rings as a plot. maybe finally team up with the other spartans still alive or rescue them or wat not. and honestly if u saw the extra ending of halo 3 u would have to assume there is more to come from master chief and cortana.

there seem to be spoliers and im gonna be wanting to experiece the full story line of the game =]

Well i mean how it left off you can predict hes going to another planet, or maybe hes going to another alien race....but that would be "GREAT" if they were to make it master cheif team up, or help other surviving spartans, one for the fact if you read the books you would know that (not everysingle one of the spartans are dead)which would end the conflict of more than one mastercheif which they did rig in halo 3 with others being aliens, but who wants to be a ugly human hating alien? Not me, i even ended games, when i was seleted as the cheif with nice human weapons, without those crappy alien weapons!

yea I did read the books and not all the spartans are dead. so it would be cool to see the chief team up with the remaining spartans. Hopefully to fight another alien race or something. and i would assume that bungie would not try to incorporate the elites as allies again bc it ended with them going back to their home planet so hopefully there will be none of this playing as elites nonsense ha ha but then again maybe master chief is crash landing on the elite home world =P lets hope not.

Major idea right now just flared through my mind, what if the master cheif lands on the elite homeplanet(yes they still are allies....or are they?) when he gets great hospitality, till the unsc arrives from a distress signal to pick him up when he finds out the elites are plotting against him....to kill him once and for all for the fact he kill thousands of them single handedly, and what if....they are holding spartans alive on their home world? seeing their weaknesses, or even using them to improve their arsenal?

 

yup all that would be great but bungie has anounce that there will be no halo 4 5 etc... well we'll just have to see about that

 

Well they said no more "HAlo" they never said anything about a "spin-off" of nice chief alone time.....on an alien planet full of creatures that hate him, or found lost Spartans...

 

of course there wont be anymore halos. the plot will no longer be about halo rings. after all that is why it was called halo der =P

the next game will be with master chief and all the halo guys or wat not but it couldnt possibly be called halo bc there would be no more halos to try and stop from blowing up bc the guys trying to blow them up are dead. make sense? lol

 

yeah, but also think about it on how it ended, bungie killed off a few main chars, like johnsan, Comander keyes(i know i killed that last one) so that way people wouldnt be asking in any "other" cheif games about them so they can give some nice quality time to the cheif.

maybe theres a new halo planet brought into the game but its the spartans old home planet but it was over run by the elites(or truth) then shut down to forever roam the galaxy but the elites didnt kill them cos they hid in the planets core were they got frozen in the thing chief got into. so then chief lands on it still in it cos like the pod thing falls out so it breaks through the surface of the planet and he gets out and theres like milloins of frozen spartans so then cheof touches this little orb thingy in the middle and triggers those capsule thingy's so then all the spartans come out back to life and tell chief and cortana about there whole story and then they all form an army cos they tell chief that the only good elites were the ones that fought and the ones you see but thats like a quarter of them cos there's like another planet full of them so the spartans and the unsc fight the elites and theres more hidden clues and shit like the halo trilogy's. and it could be called like "HALO,the lost spartans" or something like "ending" or "SPARTAN then have "SPARTAN" 1,2,3 etc etc

 

That would be a great thought, but you may have looked over a few details, Cheif was on their home planet "Reach" when the elites assaulted it, yes it was the home planet for the most fierce warriors in the unsc arsenal, but the elites with there numerous ships overrun it, but didnt go down without a fight, mainly for the fact everysingle spartan died on reach except the cheif and linda who he dragged her limp body onto the "Pillar of Autumn" at the end, also a another note in first strike Cheif returned to reach, and found some remaining spartans their aswell, but idk where they ended up in the story but im guranteeing you that they were posted somewhere across earth to defend it, and ill quote what one of the marines said in halo 3 when the cheif was coming in a pelican "Woaw man, hey look its "a" spartan!" a marine with his eyes gouged out thought he was joking, but relized he was telling the truth....blah blah blah, okay but saying that is properly worded for their still being more than one spartan, let alone he could have said "Hey look its the last spartan" or its "the cheif" but no they had it worded correct for another game...=P

Damn right lol, i got no doubt someone is gonna bring in another game with the unsc plot, and the chief in another epic battle for survival.

ok just saying the reason the marine may have said A spartan is bc all the humans and marines and what not knew or know about the spartans. there were a lot of them I cant remember how many. BUT in order to make it seem like spartans were invincible fighting forces of the UNSC when a spartan was killed they were listed as MIA(missing in action) not KIA(killed in action). THUS the only ones that knew there was only one spartan left are the survivors of the Pillar of Autumn. So this marine, because spartans rarely were on earth itself, couldnt believe there was a real spartan there. most marines just see him as a spartan not the Master Chief.

PLUS at the beginning of Halo 2 according to the book three other spartans were on earth fighting off the covenant while master chief was at the second halo ring. Those are the only remaining spartan IIs besides two other ones that shows up later in the book. These spartans all get stuck on this alien planet at the end of the book unable to get back to earth and keep fighting thus eliminating them from any storyline of halo 3. This strange planet they are stuck on is what I believe to be the same planet Master Chief is floating to. Then again im probably way wrong on the assumption.

So all in all im saying that marine doesnt know that any of the spartans ever died and to just be in the presence of a spartan is amazing in itself. The elites will probably be out of the storyline because just as they killed of johnson and keyes they sent the elites back to their home planet. and I think MC will meet the other spartans or save them(at least this is what I hope happens) and run into another alien race or obstacle in doing so. thats just my random guess.

oh and the spartans home planet was toasted by the covenant so ya thats out of the question

 

Well I've hear that Master Chief is actually the guy from Marathon, the other game from Bungie, and since Microsoft owns Halo and Bungie is not own by MS anymore they cannot make another Halo game unless of course they call it something else like Marathon or some new type of Marathon game with Master Chief that I think could be coming out in about 2.5 years but that's just what I think, I don't really know what it's really going to happen with Halo, but I mean they can't just let it die bc it made so much money for them already that I think they're going to want more.

 

Well thats most likely true, there probably going to make more games wit the cheif seeing as that is their major "Title" even though they dont actually own it, im guarenteeing you that bungie will come to an agreement with MS so that they can make yet another game cause no doubt that MS will respond to the massive gamer demmand for a new halo, or another game with the cheif.

yeah there should be another but think prequel not a sequel like how and why the forerunners abandon the halos in the first place

 

personally i think a prequel would be stupid. especially if it went as far back as explaining the forerunners. they need to keep the chief in the game bc otherwise it would not be the same game.

oh and marathon and halo are two different games. sure gameplay is similar but they would have called it marathon combat evolved if it was a marathon game. oh and storylines are different. the only reason they are similar at all is bc bungie made both of them and were their best games.
