Official PS3 Theme thread

I think some of the guys here said they used photoshop to work on the icons. It just has to be a specific size (but you can use any program to edit the size of the picture).

And the guy that did the Transformers theme said he got the icons from the web.

I haven't made a theme yet. Maybe I should lol.

 

i found a pretty good site with a load of themes (500 so far) which can be installed straight from your ps3 browser:

Thats just what i was looking for because those rar files for some reason i don't understand how to get the theme from them.

 

Took me a while but I finally can make my own. I will try and draw up a tutorial on how to do it for those that are having a hard time. Thanks Afterdawn for the link to paint.net freeware. Thats what I use to edit my icons.

^^ its easy to install a theme even if you are a complete fool.

 

This thread use to be going good but it died as soon as it was stickied for some reason.

and that you use paint.net to edit icons if your ever making a theme.
a guide to creating themes would top it off though.

 

For anyone interested in making thier own themes PS3 Theme Builder v2.1 was released in December,it allows you to create your own theme and add Sound effects,ive never used it before but i just downloaded it and it looks very easy.

 

lads couls do wit a bit of help its doin me ed in!! trin to set up an aoline account on me PS3.im at the create an online id part now. but when i enter a name any name for that matter and enter it it forwards to next screen and tells me that the online id i entered canot be used.!!!!! please choose another id!!! ive tried loads of names same result! any clue wats goin on?? cheers

This is my first theme so I need a question answered.

1. How do I remove the background from the icons? I tried using photoshop and didn't work to well.

Changelog:

v0.1a-v0.1b
Changed icons under settings.

These are what I am going to work on for the next releases:

Version 0.2:
More clear icons
Backgrounds removed

Version 0.3:
Icons more clear
Custom sounds

Version 0.4(Final):
Maybe by this time someone will figure out how to change the positions
If so positions will be changed.
If not I will make the icons more clear and get some new icons that look better.

nick48 I see your problem now dude,what software are you using to make your icons bigger.Your theme is quite good,

 

I am using photoshop cs2. I don't know how to get the background removed.

Were the backgrounds originaly on them or did they apear after you converted them.

I used a program called image converter plus it batch enlarged the icons without putting the backgrounds on them.
Also did you know that you can put sound effects in your theme.

This is one of the themes that i created,notice the icon difference between this one and the Mila Jovovich one above.

Yea I' working on my next version for the theme with different sound effects close to the ones on logika.
