Hi there... I'm wondering if it's possible to take a .ogg video and use the foreign language track and have the subs appear in a divx/xvid file for playback on a divx compatible player.

You mean ogg or ogm? If it is ogg then the video is Theora. If it is an ogm then the video is probably already XviD/DivX.

Plus I don't think ogg writ subs have been implimented yet, so if you have a subtitles stream, then it is definatly an ogm file.

For ogm to avi, you might want to try: http://sourceforge.net/projects/alltoavi
Should work for ogg to since I believe it uses mencoder for encoding. That is if the included mencoder built has theora enabled.

Really comes down to the player. External textsubs work fine here. I generally use srt's.

Well I had the lg one... now I've switched to the oppo as of today and I love it... is there a way to play ogms with an external sub? And is it possible to seperate them and keep the video the same... just make a sub file.
