its a container. demux it with virtualdubmod. avi won't accept vorbis audio though. don't have many experience with theora video so no comment, i'm sure mkv will eat it
Theora is Xiph's video codec. It is heavily based on On2's VP3 video codec. It is the only video codec allowed in the ogg container, however this post is about ogm files, which although can contain theora video they would do so using ogm's regular VfW mode rather than natively. If you have ffdshow then it can decode theora in ogm/avi files. Not sure whether it can connect to illiminable or radlight's ogg splitter though. Note Xiph was also working on another video codec (Tarkin) before On2 dontated their source. However it was never close to useable.
Hi i have a similiar problem, i have some video files in the ogm format, i have got virtualdubmod but i do not know how to use it to demux the ogm file, could someone please give me some advice please? thankyou!
