hello, i have these movies in .ogm file format... my question is how i do so that a dvd-player can play them as divx/xvid files?

Are they already playable? should i just rename ending? if not, what program is suitable just to reencode them so that they are playable by players supporting xvid/divx5.0

Video is probably alread XviD or DivX. Your problem would be that most players don't support the ogm container (or the vorbis audio that is probably being used). You would need to remux to avi and possible re-encode the audio.
