Ok, this is my first port here, and it'll probably be mvoed (I'm not sure which section to put it in, haha, I've had like no sleep and I'm naturally blonde) Now, this is a question about NAT error (Groan goes the forum.) Now, I'm using Azureus, and I keep getting a Nat Error, so I head over to portforward.com, and look at their list of routers, I'm not sure which mine is, amble downstairs to look at it. It says 'Net-lynx.' on the front, ok, they don't have that. I've tried googling about for it, to no avail, I really would like to be using the torrent client properly. Anyone want to help me out here? (Many apologies, it's probably been asked a million times before, and this is in the wrong section, and there was probably a lot I should have read before I posted this, but I'm running on four hours sleep, and I have to go in a moment. Going to check back later.) Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.
Don't be sorry it a hardware and a software problem it could be posted here or the p2p section.The p2p section has more people who are able to help. So this nat error happened where? in the routers web utility or on azureus or on windows? Azereus is the hardest of the torrent clients by the way and you may want to look into utorrent.
I agree---utorrent is much faster and less of a resource hog. As far as NAT errors are concerned, you need to forward certain ports to your torrent client. If you know the IP of the router (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) you can just browse around the config GUI and find the port forwarding section. Google which ports need to be forwarded (I beleive it is a range, not just one port) and set it up to forward TCP and UDP to the IP of the client machine. NAT error shoud go away after a bit. utorrent is awesome. I've never had an NAT error with it, or any other error for that matter. I've also had a quite a few downloads finish, that had no tracker from start to finish.
I'll use utorrent then. Thing is though, I still can't connect even using that, I know I need to port forward, but I'm not sure how (Portforward.com doesn't have my router ((Net-Lynx is all I can tell.)))
Which port should I be using? I've tried several. >_>;; Sorry about the whole being an idiot at computers things. If it doesn't work, any idea what I could do/where I could look on how to forward that pot? As I said, portforward.com (sadly) doesn't have my router in it, or well, actually it may do, but since the only information I can get about my router is that it's a 'Net-Lynx', and that they didn't have, it could be just the manufacturer not the brand for all I know.
Mmm, µtorrent has a default port it may be using, look up what it is and forward that. There may be something else blocking it. Do you have Zone alarm, norton security or anything like that?
The default port isn't working, and norton is disabled, so is the windows default firewall, made sure they both were. I'd love to forward that port, if only I knew how, hehe.
Lol what's on your router homepage? (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.0 - one of those will probably get you there, for UN and password try "admin, password", "admin, admin", "admin, (blank), "
Newp. None of them did it. Went STart > Run > CMD > Ipconfig/all SEe nothing like it in there, tried 'em anyway. didn't work.
You gateway is the same as your routers IP address. 10.0.0.X si also a private IP class for home networks. Try that Ip in IE. ~Rich
Damn, no. Just get an unable to find page in Firefox, and it just goes on to whatever page I'm on in IE again, as if I'd refreshed.
Maybe this router does not have a web interface. I'm googling stuff on it right now. Gimme a few more minutes. Can you at least ping that IP????? ~Rich
Really strange. Try this. command prompt ping -a 10.0.0.2 See what name comes back. Should be an internal address. If not, check your hosts files to make sure it does not have an entry for 10.0.0.2. ~Rich
