I bought this hentai called Dollhouse. The DVD itself was released sometime last year. Well I am, literally, trying to back it up and store the original away as to preserve it. However I can't get the disc to be read. DVDFab 5 simply says nothings there and my WMP won't even recognize it. However, my DVD player in my room plays it no problem. Also tried DVD Decrypter but its no go as well, it simply errors a bunch on me while detecting the disc in the drive. Keeps saying L-EC Uncorrectable Error. I have also tried cleaning my lens. Also tried AnyDVD with no luck detecting it as well. I'm running in DMA mode not PIO, nothings running in the background. I've checked various guides and no go. I'm kinda stuck. Heck even tried to see what protection is on it. All I find is CSS/CPPM.
Have you played the DVD all the way through on your DVD player??? I had a similar problem with a DVD this week. DVD appeared to play fine when I "quick checked it". None of my backup programs would recognize it. Windows would see the disc but was unable to access the entire file structure. I found out that the disc had a defect on one the the files on the disc that was not accessed by the DVD player until later on the disc, but was required by the backup program. I think that your disc may have a defect that your DVD player hasn't tried to access (yet).
OK, then it's probably not what I suggested. AnyDVD should give you a reason why it cannot detect the DVD. In my case, after several minutes, it came back with "Cannot read DVD", which in my case was it couldn't physically read a file it needed to in order to defeat the copy protection. What error message is AnyDVD giving you? I still think it's a physical error in trying to read one of the files. If you have an error message, you might try the people at SlySoft since that's the way that they figure out how to defeat new copy protection schemes.
Well I put the DVD in my drive and AnyDVD doesn't even recognize it. It just says "Drive D: is not ready!" In My Computer it says "DOLLHOUSE".
V 6.5.2.2 I just looked in settings and it says AnyDVD isn't enabled for Drive. Yet when I look in the "Drives" section the box is checked.....?
You do have the latest version. Perhaps try reinstalling the latest version of anydvd and then restarting the pc. Hope this helps, Jo
Assuming your dvd drive isn't on the fritz the only thing left is the disc is stuffed, the disc is being detected windows can see it but due to read errors it can't play it,when all else has been discounted all that's left is the media,ok so i did a web search & i really have no idea what i'm talking about http://www.bha.co.jp/en/support/atapi/errors3.html
I've tried all the options the link said except one, trying another drive. I'll have to do that tomorrow cause I need sleep. Man this movie is troublesome.... Ok I reinstalled AnyDvD and it says its scanning the disc and it'll be available shortly. After that, Windows asks what to do, I try DVD Decrypter and it gives the same errors from my first post.
Anydvd won't rip it unless you have set it to rip automatically in the settings, right click on the anydvd icon in system tray & clik rip to hdd & see what happens dvd decrp is giving that error because the disc has either got file errors or the protection is too late for dvd to read the disk, dvd decryp has'nt been updated for use with later protected type discs which is why most use dvdfab or anydvd,i realize the dvd player can read it ok that does'nt mean the disc is ok,i've come across that same error & due to my hardware being late enough i know the disc is the problem, tho more likley on PS2 games than movies
I tried that and ripping to Image yesterday and it also gave me a "Drive D: is not ready!" DVDFab also doesnt recognize the disk as being there. It starts scanning and then says to select the Source. I tried selecting the disk and the Video_TS folder and still no go. Soon as I get off work I'm gonna try out another drive and see if that works.
OK, I tried it on my fathers DVD burner.Tried DVDFab and DVD Decrypter. He gets further than I did, it actually read the Source disc. DVDDecrypter actually read the disc and started the ISO creation but THEN errored and it wouldnt allow us past that point. DVDFab did the same and it said to restart so it could use this thing called.....Pathfinder I think it was called. Well we did that and then it errored as well. Tried it also on my friends new laptop and it errored on hers as well. I'm guessing its a screwy disc then....
Since the dvd player of all things seems to run it ok you could try capturing it from there thru the comps is it the vid card that does that or it thru a tv card
Well my video card doesnt support that so I guess I'm just SOL for right now until I try again one day. Thanks for your help guys.
