what is the specs on the laptop. wouldn't say 98 sucks compared to xp as depends on what you are using it for. i'm using win98se on a p4 2.4 celeron d with 512meg of ram & 160gig hd with no problems

well 128 is the minumum xp runs on I beleive. you should really have at least 256 to have it running smoothly. you should look into windows 2000. In my opinion its the best and most stable windows OS there is. On a older system it would run better than XP

why is your hd marked as d: & e: when it should be c: & d:?? also 2gig is really not enough room for xp as xp home uses 1.6gig & pro uses 2.1gig of space

Most likely that's just a restore disc, [ie; hd reformat, or crash,] and will only install on the computer it is registered on.

than why take it apart if you don't think xp won't run good on it?? get rid of the 2 partitions if leaving as win98se or if goto win2k

lol check the requirements of the tv tuner before you invest, as most PVR systems require a moderate CPU, not to mention adequate HD space
