Hey new here, Founf yall by chance. Dino problem here. Blank DVDs don't register in my drive. It says 0 bytes available/used. I saw an old thread from '03 about it. Any quick fixes with firmware? HP doesn't even list it. Just 300i, e and another. No 'n'. I didn't get anywhere there. Help!

    Hi macnclete
    Here's version 3.20
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/information_storage/software/dvd300n_320.exe
    May help you.

The 0 byte available/free is ok if you're looking in my computer and the drive w/ a blank.

Since you have an older drive w/ max speed of 4x - I would stick w/ 8x or lower media like Verbatim or made in Japan Fuji, Sony or Maxell.

Thank You Binkie! That solved the problem. I was just getting ready to download the update firmware for 300e when I got your msg. I shot a quick video of my dog (Clete) and burned it. Now to burn the Memorial video for my friends Dad as I wanted to. I'm just in the middle of moving and you saved my day! Thank you, thank you, ty!
