I have an old PCTV capture card that I purchased about 5 years ago. I'm sure it still works, as it worked 2 years ago when I used it last. But is it worth hooking it up and using it? Or has technology bypassed this older card and should I just get a newer card. Also, if I use this card, is VirtualDub a good program to use with it? Opinions please. I can't remember the "exact" model but the card reads: Pinnacle Systems GmbH miroVideo PCTV video decoder chip is BH8969.3 9913 Is anyone still using these cards successfully capturing video from a satelite signal?
Believe it or not many of the new low priced capture cards all use the same 3 capture chips. Your capture card is probably almost exactly the same as the newer ones. VirtualDub does work well for capturing video too.
Great, thanks for your reply. Now i just have to locate newer drivers than the Win98 drivers that it came with. Hopefully won't be difficult.
