Hello I have 2 xboxs one with a x3key (downstairs) and another in my bedroom which I haven't used in about a year, it's an elite phat on lt 1.9+, original drive was Liteon (which i no longer have) and now I have a BENQ drive in it. I seem to remember last time I could not update the dashboard because it was spoofed is this still the case? if that is the case will any liteon work or would it have to be the exact liteon I use to have? (83850c v1) 2nd question i Believe latest firmware is LT 3.0, do I need a special burner to burn the latest xbox backups or can I carry on using my burner I had that i have always been using to burn xbox backups. Many Thanks
Also a guy who had similar problem to me said he managed to get it to update by doing the following thanks but that wont work the liteon i had was a 8385 :/ FIXED: I just nulled the keys and made it act as a benq, instead of liteon, put it in xbox and then my xbox updated fine. Everything works fine what does he mean by "nulled the keys"?
what that means is he just wrote the liteon drivekey to the benq, which is perfectly fine to do, most likely would not be detected on live, whatever you do you do not want a spoofed drive, this will cause a lot of issues, yes new games will need a special burner!
Thanks Peluynati, so you suggest i take out the BENQ drive and buy a liteon and leave it in there for good?
just leave the benq, but dont spoof it, just write original benq firmware and the key to it, it will be ok!
Really Peluynati? So I dont need the liteon at all? So I do something like his 1: get key off my benq drive save it 2: Flash Benq back to stock 3: Update dashboard on xbox 4: reflash with LT3.0 that correct?
Regarding step #2: Flash back to stock Is this step absolutly needed? Or could I skip to step 3 by updating (via live or via usb - which one?) to be on the latest dash, then flash LT 3.0. How much risk is there if you let live do the work of flashing your drive back to stock? Thanks
it will only cause problems if the drive that is in it is not the original drive, if it is you will have no problems!
Just letting you know - injecting my key from my old drive into the BENQ stock worked- cheers for the help guys
