hey everyone when I startup my pc it takes like 3 minutes to start it up but right before it kicks it to the welcome screen I hear a beep is this some type of error its been going on for quite some time now any info would be great thanx in advance
When was the last time you re-installed your operating system? Maybe goto your add/remove programes and remove some software you dont use anymore?
it was about 5 months ago I did a complete reformat on my pc. I have already tried going into add/remove programs and removing some software I dont use
What i would try is back up you files to CD or DVD and then do a fresh format and re-install and start again... How much memory do you have in?
even when I reformat my pc it still does the same thing cuz I have reformated this pc so many times and everytime it still does the same thing do you think it could be a memory leak or a possible windows error?
512mb should be ok, what cpu do you have? So just after you do a Format and re-install of windows it does exactly the same thing? And you have not installed any other software at all after the re-install?
I have an AMD athlon 2800 yes that is correct even after a reformat and reinstall of windows it still does the same thing but like I said earlier every time it starts up I hear a beep
Thats a tuff one then, even if it makes a beep when you have done a fresh install with no other software installed is strange? Is it just one beep or several?
Ok, Check your bios for any settings? Maybe to do with the system or cpu fans? Still though it would beep longer if it was somthing with the fans, but is worth a look.... Other than that it is difficult to diagnose through a forum...
well like a year ago I updated the bios im not sure if that might have messed things up or what but if i go into bios now what am I looking for ?
yea I could try that but im just stumped on why it takes so freakin long to startup and it makes that beep
I can only suggest things for you to try and like i said befor it is hard to diagnose over a forum... Maybe you can take it into a local repair shop... Or treat youeself to a new mobo, cpu and memory : )
I understand compltely you can only suggest things for me to try I know it is hard to diagnoise a problem over the forms.yea im gona build me a new one soon prolly by the end of this year but I was trying to fix this one up till then
