I'm taking avi, mkv, vob, mov, etc...files and using AVS converter to switch them to playable dvd's. Whenever I do this AVS says file is to big for one disc so it prompts me to make two files therefore I have to burn the movie to two discs. I was just reading up a little on DVD shrink and I think its the answer but where do I do it in the process, before or after AVS??? Thanks for the help guys, this site is really great...
Well if the files need to be converted you can't use DVD Shrink until the files have been converted. There are a few programs that start with AVS. The one you should be using is called AVStoDVD.
Sorry may be stupid question but I want to figure this out, maybe I'm asking it the wrong way... When I open up AVS6 converter it gives me the option to click on tabs of what I want the file converted to. I pick DVD so it plays in my normal dvd player. When I do this it converts the file for example--> 8mile.vob to 8mile and 8mile_1--> both containing an audio_TS and a video_TS...Inside of the Video_TS files are .ifo/.bup/and VLC media files...So now i can burn it to a DVD but I have to put it on two discs...My question is how do I take both files-->8mile & 8mile_1 and combine all the vlc media files and shrink them to fit on one dvd and burn???
DVD Shrink. Don't know AVS6 converter. It should have a setting to set the output size. If not, get rid of it. You wouldn't have this issue if you use AVStoDVD or DVD Flick. Is this what you have? http://www.avs4you.com/OnlineHelp/AVS-Video-Converter6/Introduction/overview.aspx There is a help file.
