I didn't see anything for free members. I did a test upload of a useless file and it came back with a link to download it. That's what I would expect would need to be saved should you want to download what you've stored. Read the FAQ page as I did. Otherwise, a login/password I believe is reserved for paying members.
There are, indeed, no free memberships. You can uplaod files without being a member as long as they are less than 250MB in size. If you need it to be more, then you'll need to get a payed account.
