Hi, all. I am using Abode Premiere Pro to edit MPEG-2 formated video. When I export the data in order to make a DVD, is there any benefit to marking the 2-pass box in the settings window? I am using the highest settings for DVD with the MainConcept plug-in and noticed this box to be unchecked. Really I am looking for the best possible quality for my project.

I never used Abode Premiere Pro ; I used CCE which gives its best on 3-passes. Usually multipass should increase the quality, because on any pass reater than 1 it collects the informations gotten at the previous pass, therefore using better the VBR.

If you are editing in Adobe Premier Pro useing the "MainConcept Plugin" then you should NOT Change the settings from the Default settings because if you change the setting away from what the source Files stats are then your File will get re-encoded which Defeates the whole Purpose of haveing the MainConcept Plugin...If your Files gets re-encoded then you will end up with a File that has worse quality than you started with.....

So if the Mpeg file you are editing is Say for example at 720x480 at 29.976fps with an average Bitrate of 6000kbs then your Project settings in the MainConcept Plugin should be exactly the same because if they aren"t then the Files will get re-encoded so that they do match your Project settings which will lower the Quality No Matter what settings you used.... The whole Purpose of the Plugin is so you don"t have to re-encode and waste a Bunch of Time and ruin the quality.....

    Cheers

Hello all, I am Brand new to this site. I use Nero for recoding and I'm running a memorex 16x16 +/- R RW Dual Layer Burner, and my most prized software ANY DVD 100% the best money i have spent for software. Wish I had tried it before sll of the other Ripping progs I tried.

I have goten in the habit of doing a double pass (2 Pass) when burning the back ups only because the the finished quality is far greater and i have had excellant sucess with this procedure.through a lot of disks away before 2 pass burning. This method takes longer but the end result is worth

A 2pass DVD backing up fool
