Hello, I’m hoping someone can give me some insight/solution …. I’m having problems making a backup (dvd) copy of a TV movie. Note that I’ve had no problems in the past and I’m not doing anything differently, although I’m using a new Panasonic “one-time only” dvd recorder. I copied a movie from HBO, using a (brand new) Panasonic “one-time only” dvd recorder. I want to edit out certain scenes, but am not able to make a backup of this disc. The original copy plays fine, the backup copy will not. I’m also encountering errors with the traditional authoring tools that have worked for me many times in the past. (These are mpeg files). I’ve tried various methods to determine the root cause of this problem – but I’m still clueless. Note that I don’t have a problems making backup discs when converting a vhs to dvd or taping from another TV station …. It’s just this problem I’m having with an HBO movie. I’ve been using Roxio to capture and convert to mpeg. VideoReDo to edit. Nero to burn. I’ve also tried Shrink, Decryptor, DVDFab Decryptor in lieu of Roxio with DVD43…. But nothing seems to work. (When using Decryptor, it stated that the “Pack Header could not be found” …. Not sure what this means). Question …… Could HBO be causing this problem – or is it Panasonic’s “one-time only” recording system? (or something else?) As I understand, certain TV stations (ala HBO) may be encoding their programs to only allow one-time copying. If so, how do get around this dilemma? Should I dump Panasonic? Thanks a bunch!
