hi guys iam new to this rec: dept iam looking to buy an receiver i love onkyos which one is the best one iam planning to buy bluray player i want all of it 5.1/7.1/dts in all HD please guide me thru i heard trs805 is good is there anything better than that in $500.00 range
If you want all the HD surround formats go with the 605 or above. The 605 is an awesome entry level receiver with multiple HDMI inputs and should have all the connections you may need.
I am a custom home theater installer, quite simply the 805 is the best receiver that I have ever heard. If you have the cash get the 805. It has a few quirks like audio delay with the HDMI on the Sat input. However this seems to be inherent with several HDMI receivers right now.
