I've got the Onkyo TX-SR705 receiver. Which Blu-Ray player out there should I consider to get TrueHD output. I know that there is the fact of bit-stream v.s. PCM to consider, correct? My 705 is able to decode TrueHD, so should that factor into the equation? I was looking at the soon to be released Sony BDP S500 Thanks
I also have an Onkyo TX-SR705. The Blue Ray Player I initialy purchased was a Samsung BD-P1400. It supports both the True Dobly True HD and the DTS-5.1 Master Audio. Even after I did the firmware upgrade for the player I had difficuly with 6 players where-in the picture and sound would both freeze up. I even replaced the Receiver with a Newer one of the same Model (705) still had same problem. i think the 2 are not compatiable for some reason. I will wait for the new Samsung model coming out in October. The BD-P2400 and give it a try.
The BD-P2400 has been canceled! http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/s...yer,_Delays_BD-UP5000_Dual-Format_Player/1020 Plus it wouldn't have been a good idea anyway as the players where identical, except for on of the video processors, and would have the same issues as far as audio. I would pick up the new Dual format player coming in December. Ced
