"only xbox backup extraction is supported on this drive" error

I have a kreon SH-D162d and i used to be able to back up original 360 games by extracting it with Schtrom and burning it with imgburn.

Today i was trying to backup a game and schtrom gave me this error while i tried to extract "only xbox backup extraction is supported on this drive". I did recently format my computer but that shouldnt affect the firmware would it? anyone know what might be wrong. Might i have to reflash it with Kreon? and how hard is it to do that as i bought it flashed so dont know where to get it and stuff.

I just used Nero infotool to check the firmware and it says firmware version SB00? should it say Kreon or something?

 

ok problem fixed, i tried extracting with XBC and it worked. So i updated schtrom to v4 and its working now. I had 3.2 before and for some reason it didnt work. ALL GOOD!

 

was it a new game. That version may have just not recognized the 3rd wave games.

 

it was fallout 3 and GTA IV

 

well that's not why those are both wave 2 but anyways glad you got it figured out.

 

I think you might have old Kreon firmware on there because the new 1.0 Kreon firmware is based off of the SB01 firmware written by Samsung.
