Hi folks, Apologies if this has been covered but I've used the 'Search' function and can't find anything. My trusty Openbox S10 of 2 years appears to have croacked. It was fine until a few days ago when we had a thunderstorm, I was advised by flybee Jnr that the box flickered and the TV went blank. The TV is fine and works 100%. Thinking the PSU in the S10 was at fault (nothing lights up or switches on) I ordered a new one but the box is still refusing to budge. Is there anything else I can try or do I need to get a new box and move on? Kind regards, f'bee
i bet you had no protection on your box, like mains/sat cable/ and lan protection and you got a surge, probably not worth a repair.
Thanks cactikid, I think you're right - there def wasn't any protection on the set-up. What's the best way to protect the new box when I get one? Regards, f'bee
this what i use as everthing is protected. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=monster+greenpower+hdp+850g+mk11+powercenter&client=firefox-a&hs=zPO&rls=org.mozilla:en-GBfficial&channel=sb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=PIQ4U9atN8eK7AaX0oC4Bw&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg&biw=1280&bih=635#facrc=_&imgrc=p4gILCQWJnGswM%253A%3BcZ0be__98VplQM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fjohnlewis.scene7.com%252Fis%252Fimage%252FJohnLewis%252F231745418%253F%2524prod_main%2524%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.johnlewis.com%252Fmonster-high-definition-hdp-850g-powercenter%252Fp231745418%3B475%3B475
