Ok so here's the story... I soft modded my xbox360. To test that it worked I hooked the open/exposed xbox to my tv. It worked fine and played my backups fine too. So then I put the the covers back on, screwed all the screws in, etc. Now when I turn it on I get two red rings? What did I do wrong and more importantly how do I fix it? Thanks in advance for advice!
there you go, what thermal compound did you use? and did you take off the xclamps? Id put a fan on it to keep it cool and not have to worry about 2 red lights ( overheating) but thats just me as long as it wrks. This has happened to me alot of times too, so i just leave all the screws off the xbox so i dont have to take all of them out in case it needs repairs again, oh yeah did you level the heatsink with washers usually its the smaller flat one that is what causes no video once the heat makes the motherboard bend it loses contact with the processing chip ( where you put the thermal compound) and you get 3 red lights general hardware failure so put some washers (rubber then metal to protect the board)then tighten the screws frm underneath and put a fan and should last. Happy gaming, hope i helped.
wait just rechecked what you posted you didnt take the 2 x shaped things frm underneath the motherboard and you replaced the tiny little black screws back like it was stock? If you run into red light problems we'll help you out.
