What are these? Does the HD4890 have all of them? Cuz in DXDiag video settings I don't see the OpenGl disable or enable or w/e funcionality while I do see the other 3. But does it still have openGL even though I don't see it? BTW for AOE2 to work for my pc I have to disable DirectDraw which also disables Direct3D. It's a 2D game. Will it work if I just disable Direct3D I think DirectDraw speeds up 2D acceleration or something. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.
OpenGL: A method of producing graphics, usually for games. Open-source. DirectX (also known as Direct3D): Another rival method of producing graphics, usually for games. Owned by Microsoft. DirectDraw: An antiquated method of producing graphics, unlike OpenGL and DirectX, designed strictly for 2D rendering (e.g. old primitive strategy games, your windows desktop), not 3D (full-on games like FPS and modern RTS) AGP Texture Acceleration: Relates to AGP technology, which is no longer used in most PCs (PCI Express replaced it) Age of Empires 2 doesn't work with Direct3D enabled because it's old and not really compatible with newer versions of Windows. You shouldn't have any performance issues with it, however.
I had the game crash several times until I disabled Direct3D. My GPU does have openGL does it. Oh then why do I see the AGP Texture Acceleration in my List in DXDIAG. Should I leave it enabled? Any difference? Thanks.
