Can someone differentiate among Windows sp pro corp Edition, Windows sp pro edition and windows xp home editions. What are the differences? The price of the OS varies so different. From $299 to 899? Are the one which most expense got more functions. If it is what are they? It is useful for the enduser like us?
thread teleported to relevant forum. i did a quick google search and here's a couple results to get you going - http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/wxpdifs.html http://www.awprofessional.com/articles/article.asp?p=24963&rl=1 http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article10-002
The difference between Corp and Pro version is activation. The differences between Pro and Home are mostly network and administration capabilities. For example, the Group Policy Editor is not available in the Home edition.
Pro versions can be part of a network and log into domains etc. Home only has workgroup access. Pro you have access to greater security permissions that home does. Overall, pro is designed for a business setting, though its still excellent for home as well.
