bought a HP compaq notebook that came with an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561S AH03, but I can't find a RPC1 firmware. I not able to run DISCInfo as OS is 32bit Vista Home Premium, it keeps saying I don't have administrator rights even though I'm logged on as admin), but I was able to get some info from Everest: THIS DRIVE HAS REGION PROTECTION Optiarc DVD RW AD-7561S ATA Device Region Info - Region Code : Not Set - User : 5 changes left - Manufacturer : 4 changes left - Status : Not Set Where can I find the RPC1 firmware, i googles and can't find. anyone patch before.
@iceangel8 Looks like you are out of luck. I checked Liggy & Dee's, Dangerous Brothers and CDFreaks. It looks like that is a rebadged Buffalo or QSI DVDRW. You could use AnyDVD running in background to make it region-free. Burn On, Russell
AnyDVD is not free? I wonder DVDgenuie work? Will it change no of user/manafacturer changes left , current DVD-RW not set to any region code
